Staffordshire Moorlands Area Guide
The Staffordshire Moorlands is a rural area between Stoke on Trent and the Peak District. There are three towns in the Staffordshire Moorlands which are Leek, Cheadle and Biddulph. Visitor attractions include the National Trust property Biddulph Grange, the Churnet Valley Railway, the UK’s largest and number one theme park Alton Towers Resort, and the annual Leek Arts Festival. There are also a variety of outdoor pursuits such as rock climbing (The Roaches), sailing (Rudyard Lake) and cycling (Waterhouses).
From adrenaline pumping rides on some of the world’s best rollercoasters, to relaxing walks among free-roaming endangered species, the Staffordshire Moorlands residents have contrasting options on offer.
Those who are inspired with the past can explore 1000 years of Staffordshire history in ancient cathedrals, medieval castles and magnificent stately homes, or potter around factory shops from our world-famous brands.
Alternatively you can get a taste of Staffordshire, with tantalising menus and ales to savour at the home of the UK brewing.
